Once at the wheel of the TF-Sport-run Oreca 07 Gibson machine, quick-thinking during a full course yellow saw him pit for fresh tyres – a move that paid dividends when the time came for him to swap places with Aitken who took the chequered flag in sixth and first in Pro-Am. He dropped back to sixth position and eventually ended his stint ninth overall when he handed the reins over to Eastwood. However, a shaky start by Yoluc ensured it would not be straightforward as drizzle during the formation laps resulted in a spin. Starting the 4 Hours of Portimão from pole position a handful of points was all the trio required to be crowned both teams’ and drivers’ champions. They made it four class victories from six starts in the hugely competitive endurance competition to secure the trophy by a comfortable 29-point margin.
